Dolphin Removals & Storage Ltd (“Dolphin”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect through this website and in the course of arranging your move, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

What we collect
• Enquiry and quote details you send us through our forms, by phone, email or WhatsApp, typically your name, phone number, email address, moving postcodes, moving date and details of what is moving.
• Survey information, notes, photos or video from your WhatsApp video or in-person survey, used to prepare your quote.
• Correspondence, records of the emails, messages and calls we exchange with you.
Website forms
• When you send a form on this website, it comes to us by email and a copy is saved in our website’s database, together with the date and time, the page you sent it from, your IP address and your browser details. Only Dolphin and the people who look after our website can see it, and we keep it as set out under How long we keep it.
• To keep out spam, each form you send is checked by Akismet, a spam-filtering service run by Automattic. Akismet receives the details you type into the form (such as your name, email address and message), the page you sent it from, your IP address and your browser details, but not your phone number or moving date. Automattic explains how long it keeps this information at akismet.com/gdpr. If Akismet flags a form as spam, it is not emailed to us or saved on our website, and the form shows an error message with our phone number and email address instead, so you can still reach us.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to your enquiry, carry out your survey, prepare your quotation, and, if you book with us, to perform your removal, storage or related services and keep in touch about them. Our lawful bases are: taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing that contract, your consent where you have given it (for example when submitting an enquiry form), and our legitimate interest in running and improving our business.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed to run our website and deliver our services: with our website, email and spam-filtering providers, and, for international moves, with the trusted destination and shipping partners who carry out the overseas legs of your move. Where we share information, we share only what is needed for that purpose.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and customer records for as long as required for legal, accounting and insurance purposes.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact services@dolphinremovals.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
